BeatsBase mixes

What are they?

As almost anyone interested in DJing is likely to tell you, you’re not a DJ until (at the very least) you’ve started mixing. Now maybe that means you beatmatch tracks in your set, or maybe you go one step further and produce your own tracks. Either way, BeatsBase is on hand to help you deliver your hard work to the masses.

Once registered with BeatsBase, users are able to upload mp3 files of their latest DJ creations for the whole world to listen to, and yes, feedback on. Great for promoting yourself and your work whilst getting some fresh viewpoints and ideas along the way!

How do I add a mix to the BeatsBase database?

Once registered with BeatsBase, clicking on the ‘BeatsBase Console’ link will take you to your very own admin area where amongst other options you can upload mixes to BeatsBase.

Either by selecting ‘Upload a mix’ from the quick list or by clicking the ‘My mixes’ tab, you will be directed to the add mixes form where you can upload your latest masterpiece to be heard by the masses.

Uploading your mix then involves just 2 easy steps!

Step 1:Firstly, you are asked to enter the title of your mix (required) and an optional description. You can also choose a genre and subgenre for your mix if you want. Then using the ‘Browse’ function, locate the mp3 file of your mix and click ‘Upload’. Simple!

Note:When adding (or updating) a mix you must declare that you have permission to use all the music, samples and sounds contained in the uploaded mix file. Any track found with unauthorised copyrighted music, samples or sounds will be deleted, and your BeatsBase user account may be deleted as well.

Step 2: (Optional) This second step asks you to list the tracks that make up your mix, either from our huge database or completely new tracks. Adding this information should avoid any frustrations from your fellow users wanting to know what that ‘funky track’ is in the middle of your mix!

What does ‘Mix Status’ mean?

When you are uploading/editing a mix you have a choice of two status’ for your upload which, although fairly self explanatory are explained below:

Live on BeatsBase: Selecting this option and hitting the ‘Save Mix’ button will let the world marvel at your work by uploading it live to the main BeatsBase site.

Delete this: By choosing this option and hitting the ‘Save Mix’ button your mix will be deleted from BeatsBase.

How do I edit a mix I’ve already added to BeatsBase?

If you need to correct a mistake, or just want to add additional information to a mix, you can edit any of your mixes by clicking the ‘edit’ link next to the appropriate mix in your ‘BeatsBase Console’, making the necessary changes and hitting save!
