BeatsBase forums

What are they?

The BeatsBase forums are essentially a place for the DJ community to meet and talk about… well anything really! Anyone who signs up for a BeatsBase user account can visit our online forums to chat with like minded DJs from around the globe, contributing to ongoing discussions or indeed posting new topics!

How do I add a new topic?

By clicking the ‘Add New’ link on any of the BeatsBase forum pages you will be directed to the ‘Add topic’ form where you can enter the title, body text and tags for your new post. Once you are happy with the post, and have selected an appropriate section (e.g. DJ Chat), you can hit ‘Save Topic’ to add it live to the BeatsBase forums.

How do I comment/respond to an existing post?

Commenting on any particular forum post is easy. All you have to do is select the thread you want to comment on and scroll to the bottom of the page. There you will see a ‘Reply’ box headed ‘Your comment’. By typing in your comment and hitting the ‘Save comment’ button you can contribute to the discussion in question. Simple!

What are ‘Tags’ and how do they work?

Tags are essentially key words that help users viewing the forums find topics relevant to them. When you are writing a new post, or indeed commenting on an existing discussion, you are able to add ‘tags’ (keywords) separated by a space that help to describe what the discussion is all about. For example, if you were to add a new forum topic to discuss the pros and cons of your new Numark turntables you might want to add ‘turntables’, ‘equipment’ and ‘numark’ as tags for the post.

BeatsBase is then able to group similar topics together, allowing users to swiftly find discussions of interest by clicking on the appropriate ‘tag’! What’s more, BeatsBase also compiles the ‘Hot Tags’ list (shown on the right of the forums section) which provides links for topics containing the most popular tags used in the forums.
