BeatsBase blogs

What are they?

When you sign up for a BeatsBase account you will automatically be assigned your very own BeatsBase mini-site @ username.beatsbase.com which, as well as displaying your uploaded tracks, mixes and playlists, houses your BeatsBase blog. You can use your blog to discuss anything, from what you ate for breakfast to what you really think of your new turntables. As other users visit your BeatsBase page they will be able to read and comment on any of your last ten posts, making for some interesting discussions!

How do I write a new post?

Once registered with BeatsBase, clicking on the ‘BeatsBase Console’ link will take you to your very own admin area where amongst other options you can manage your BeatsBase blog.

Either by selecting ‘Write a post’ from the quick list or by clicking the ‘Write my blog’ tab, you will be directed to the ‘Write post’ page where you can enter a title and body text for your new post.

Once you are happy with the post (which you can preview by scrolling down) you can hit ‘Publish’ to add it to your BeatsBase page.

How do I edit/delete an old post?

Editing or deleting any particular blog post is easy. All you have to do is select the ‘Manage my blog’ tab in the ‘BeatsBase Console’ and choose either the edit or delete option next to the blog entry in question. After, making any changes to your post, simply hit ‘Save’ and you’re done!

How do comments work?

Assuming you tick the ‘Allow people to post comments on the article’ check-box in the ‘Discussion’ tab of your ‘BeatsBase Console’, other registered users will be able respond to your ramblings by posting comments.

You can post a comment on a blog entry by clicking the ‘Comment’ link below the post, typing your thoughts, and hitting ‘Submit comment’. The blog owner will then be notified of your comment in their ‘BeatsBase Console’ and, depending on their own comment moderation settings, may be asked to approve it before it becomes visble on BeatsBase. Simple!
