Yes it’s true! By the end of July 2008 we hope to have profile upgrades available to all BeatsBase users enabling you to sign up for BeatsBase Bronze, Silver or Gold adding 250mb, 500mb, or 1000mb to your 250mb of free space respectively!

Whats the catch you say?? We’ll as much as I’d like to give you these upgrades free of charge due to our increased hosting fees there will be a small charge varying on your choice of upgrade. Hopefully you’ll find these more than fair but I guess only time will tell.

As we approach our first anniversary online we felt it’s about time we opened it out to the floor to ask you our dedicated users what you think of BeatsBase and what we can do to improve it in our second 12 months. Above all else we want the site to evolve with you to make it as useful as possible to DJs of all backgrounds and levels of experience so any comments or feedback you have will be greatly appreciated. BeatsBase agree partnership with BPM.fm

As has been hinted at for a number of months now I am delighted to announce that BeatsBase.com has teamed up with the online dj radio service BPM.fm to provide our users with the chance of having their mixes broadcasted to the world as part of one of BPM.fm’s dj shows.

Discussions are currently underway to secure a weekly BeatsBase slot on BPM.fm radio which will be filled with a selection of the finest mixes uploaded by you our users. Stay tuned for more details and get uploading those mixes through our NEW and IMPROVED upload system!

BeatsBase User Hits BBC Radio 1!

Few could argue to have had a better start to 2008 than BeatsBase user Atkinson who’s track ‘Perpetual Sunrise’ has been played by DJ Judge Jules live on his Radio 1 show. Will Atkinson, still only 17, explained “hearing my track on Radio 1 really is a dream come true. All I’ve ever been able to think about since I started producing is hearing my work on the Radio.”

Whilst distribution issues have restricted Atkinson uploading ‘Perpetual Sunrise’ to BeatsBase just yet he does hope to have an edited version on the site in the near future so watch this space.

Happy new year to all our users, I hope 2008 is being kind to you all! Regrettably the year starts for me with an apology. Due to some unfortunate personal circumstances I have been unable to give BeatsBase much attention in the last few months and for that I am sorry. Still, there’s no point in living in the past and what better time to start afresh than a new year. Hey there folks, sorry its been such a while since the last post on the BeatsBase blog. Thankfully one or two things have been going on behind the scenes ensuring the evolution of the BeatsBase community which may not be immediately obvious to the naked eye.

Perhaps most exciting is the fact that, based on the quality of the mixes uploaded to BeatsBase, we have been approached by more than one on-line DJ radio station about the possibility of working together to promote the work of our talented members. Needless to say there are a few technical issues to discuss but all being well we should have some exciting announcements to make over the coming days and weeks! Watch this space!

New look BeatsBase has arrived!

I’m pleased to announce that the changes mentioned in my last post are now complete making BeatsBase more interactive than ever and even easier to use! So what have we done?! Well as you can see the homepage now has a recent users list and online player that lets you hear the 25 latest mixes uploaded to BeatsBase.

What’s more we’ve made it much easier to upload mixes to the site by allowing you all to upload mixes even if you don’t add any of the details of the songs in your mix. Of course you can still add as much detail as ever but by making it optional we hope it should be easier for more of you to upload your work! As always we’d love to hear what you think of our latest changes, enjoy!

You may have noticed that BeatsBase has recently undergone some fairly significant changes. You may also have experienced some minor disruptions which I can assure you are just short term side effects of the site’s renovation. Chris, BeatsBase’s resident computer brain, is only a matter of hours away from completing the update so you can expect to see a more detailed blog entry highlighting the improvements to BeatsBase very soon.
